7 hotels with a room for 6 within walking distance of Namba and Shinsaibashi

In short: searching Rakuten Travel for 6 adults in 1 room, we found 7 hotels 0.5–1.4 km from central Namba in a straight line where we could also confirm the bedding. Other places can take 6 or more, but we have left out any where we could not confirm the number of beds or futons.

• For a bed each, choose MIMARU Shinsaibashi NORTH or the 6-bed room at Minn Namba Nipponbashi; for all 6 sleeping together in one room, the Family Suite at TAKUTO.
• Minn Namba Nipponbashi's 6-bed rooms come as a room for up to 8, and a "Family" room for up to 6 with children's items (baby high chair, toys, picture books and so on). To pay less, there is also a 1-Bedroom Suite (45 m², sleeps 7) with 2 double beds + 3 sofa beds (with 6, two people share a double bed).
• At Welina Shinsaibashi's Japanese-style room, you lay out the 6 futon sets yourselves. The property's official booking page gives the size two ways, 32 m² and 35 m². On Rakuten the room is called "Japanese-style room" (和室).
• At the two MIMARU properties (Shinsaibashi NORTH and Namba STATION), the front desk is staffed 7:00–22:00, and night security staff take over from 22:00. Minn Namba Nipponbashi has no in-person front desk: you check in by smartphone and remote staff respond 24 hours (official site).
• For something cheaper a little further from Namba: Hotel MyStays Otemae (4 min walk from Tanimachi 4-chome Station, about 2.4 km from Namba in a straight line), with a Family Japanese-Western room (56 m², 3DK, with a tatami room, kitchen and washing machine). We could not confirm the breakdown of the bedding.

Cherry-blossom season is 1.6–2.4 times a January weekday. Osaka's accommodation tax is up to ¥500 per person per night

In short: in cherry-blossom season (late March to early April 2027), the same room cost about 1.6–2.4 times a January weekday (about 2.8 times at MyStays Otemae). Osaka Prefecture's accommodation tax is ¥0–500 per person per night; for 6 people and 4 nights at cherry-blossom prices, expect around ¥4,800–12,000.

The amounts in this article are for a family of 6: a couple, 2 elementary-school children and the grandparents. The prices, however, are what Rakuten Travel showed for "6 adults".

• The cheapest price for TAKUTO's Family Suite is a non-refundable plan (book at least 30 days ahead). There is also an "early booking" plan (¥86,520 on 27 March, ¥54,780 on 20 January) and a standard plan (¥116,802 and ¥73,953). On 3 April the Family Suite did not appear in search on any plan (only the "up to 8" Connecting Room did).
• Minn's price in the table is an early-booking discount (no changes or cancellation after booking). On a plan you can book at any time, the 6-bed room is ¥158,400 on 27 March and ¥67,200 on 20 January.
• MONday's refundable plans are 10–20% higher (27 March: ¥133,692).
• 27 March ÷ 20 January: TAKUTO about 1.6×, MIMARU Shinsaibashi NORTH about 1.7×, MONday about 1.7×, Welina Shinsaibashi about 2.1×, Minn about 2.4×, CONTEXTED GEN about 1.6×, MyStays Otemae about 2.8×.

• The "room price" is the room-only price, excluding consumption tax and meals. Whole-house rentals and private rentals (minpaku) are taxed too, and family trips are not exempt.
• We could not confirm whether the 16% arrangement fee included in CONTEXTED's price counts towards the room price as the prefecture defines it (it could change the band).
• How to pay: at the property, together with the room price. TAKUTO, Minn and MyStays Otemae state that it is "not included in the price and paid on site". The other properties do not say on the Rakuten screen, and we could not confirm.
• If you also stay in Kyoto, Kyoto City's accommodation tax works differently: 5 bands, up to ¥10,000 per person per night.

• At TAKUTO and MIMARU, one room cost the same for 5 adults as for 6. At Minn, Welina and MONday the price changes with the number of people (checked in October 2026 for 20 January 2027).
• For 5 people (a couple, 1 child and the grandparents), at 20 January prices the tax at most properties is ¥200 × 5 people × 4 nights = ¥4,000. At Welina Shinsaibashi it is under ¥5,000 per person, so no tax; at MIMARU Namba STATION the price per person goes over ¥15,000, putting it in the ¥400 band, so ¥8,000.
• With a preschool child, the rules for sharing a bed differ by property. TAKUTO: up to age 5, sharing a bed with no bedding provided. Minn: age 5 and under free, up to a set number per room. Welina: one preschool child per adult. MyStays Otemae: preschool children share a bed free. MONday: one child aged 6 or under per bed and adult (up to 2 per room).

TAKUTO HOTEL Shinsaibashi, Minn Namba Nipponbashi and Welina Shinsaibashi compared

In short: for all 6 sleeping together in one room and walking out to Shinsaibashi, TAKUTO HOTEL Shinsaibashi. For a new room close to Namba with a bed for each of the 6, Minn Namba Nipponbashi. If futons are fine and you want the lowest price and Namba Station on the doorstep, Welina Shinsaibashi's Japanese-style room.

Before choosing a whole-house rental, read its quiet hours on the booking site

In short: many private apartments and whole-house rentals near Namba state on booking sites "quiet from such-and-such a time", mostly from 9 pm or 10 pm. If your children are lively in the evening too, starting with a large hotel room is less stressful.

• For private rentals (minpaku), the host is required to explain things to guests such as "do not talk loudly, close windows late at night, no outdoor parties" (Japan Tourism Agency). Osaka City also provides sample notices (in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese) that neighbours can use to tell minpaku guests about noise and rubbish rules. In residential streets or a flat in an apartment block, assume the neighbours are listening for voices at night.
• There are real accounts of a family at a house-type private rental being shouted at by a neighbour over their children talking at night.
• Quiet hours are rules the property has written on the booking site, and where they are written varies. Before booking, open the house rules section and check.

If you want separate bedrooms for each part of the family, or to rent a whole house for 7 or 8, one example is CONTEXTED, a whole-house rental made from restored pre-war row houses. In exchange for having the whole house, it is far from Namba (about 3.3 km in a straight line) and its night rules are on the strict side.

• The 3 houses are separate, and each has a kitchen, cookware, a washer-dryer and a microwave. The booking page lists a 70-inch home theatre (projector) in all 3.
• Getting in: send the guest register for everyone staying (name, address, copy of passport) and you receive the key code and instructions. We could not confirm whether there is in-person reception.
• From Namba: the nearest station is JR Teradacho. The property's guide says around 10 minutes' walk to the station (the Rakuten listing says about 5), and Teradacho to Namba is around 11 minutes by train. Adding the walk and the train, it is over 20 minutes even without transfers and waiting (calculated from the property's own figures; not checked against a rail company route planner).
• Using more beds than the number of people booked is not allowed (¥7,000 per extra person). Check-out is strictly 11:00 (for cleaning).
• The property states that the Rakuten Travel price includes a "16% arrangement fee". As in the table above, GEN was ¥132,348 on 27 March and ¥81,936 on 20 January.

Staying 4 nights in Osaka? Check cleaning, the washing machine and the cancellation policy first

In short: when you stay several nights in the same place, three things change how easy the stay is: cleaning during the stay, a washing machine in the room, and the cancellation policy.

• Cancellation: MIMARU, MONday and Minn charge 100% from 7 days before; Welina 100% from the day before. Early-booking discounts and non-refundable plans cannot be cancelled once booked. While your dates are still not fixed, choose a property with a looser policy or a refundable plan.
• Large luggage for 6: Minn Namba Nipponbashi's official site says you can leave luggage in a self-service cloakroom. For the other properties, we could not confirm from public information whether you can leave luggage before check-in or after check-out. From Kansai Airport to Namba, there is the Nankai Railway train, which arrives without changing, or the limousine bus. For 6 people with large luggage, the easy options are the limited express Rapi:t, with reserved seats, or the limousine bus, which takes suitcases in the hold.

• The Rapi:t needs a limited-express ticket on top of the fare (adult ¥700, elementary-school child ¥350; included in the amounts above). Buying it through Nankai's online "Limited Express Ticketless Service" makes the limited-express ticket ¥150 cheaper per adult; buying on board makes it ¥300 more. The Airport Express needs no limited-express ticket, and seats cannot be reserved.
• The limousine bus is first come, first served with no reservation. Each person can put up to 2 suitcases in the hold (up to 30 kg in total, up to 2 m for the sum of the three sides of each). Children below elementary-school age ride free, one per adult or elementary-school child; from the second child, or if a child takes a seat, the elementary-school child fare applies.
• On JR, the Kansai Airport Rapid Service takes 47–56 minutes to Tennoji. To reach a hotel in Namba you change again from there, so with 6 people and luggage the 3 options above are easier. If you stay at the whole-house rental CONTEXTED, Teradacho is the next station after changing to the Osaka Loop Line at Tennoji. We have not checked JR fares in this article.
