Six in one room in Shinjuku means renting a room with a kitchen.
An apartment hotel that lists the beds up front, or a cheaper minpaku?
Book a Shinjuku hotel for 6 and you usually end up in two rooms. This article compares 6 places where 6 adults can share one room, 3–7 minutes on foot from Shinjuku-sanchome, Yotsuya, Akebonobashi or Shinjuku-gyoemmae stations. None of them is a hotel with staff on site; all are rooms with a kitchen that you rent. A weekday night split between 6 came to about ¥12,000–¥19,000 per person (measured on Rakuten Travel on 29 September 2026).

The 6 placesAll 6 places within 3–7 minutes of a station are rooms with a kitchen
The answer: the shortlist in this article is 6 places where 6 adults can share one room, 3–7 minutes on foot from Shinjuku-sanchome, Yotsuya, Akebonobashi or Shinjuku-gyoemmae stations. All of them are rooms with a kitchen that you rent, so what decides it is the beds, the laundry, the cancellation fees and the price. The table below shows the distance from the station, the beds in the room for 6 and the laundry equipment, checked on each property's official site and its Rakuten listing.
Places where 6 adults can share one room, 3–7 minutes on foot from Shinjuku-sanchome, Yotsuya, Akebonobashi or Shinjuku-gyoemmae stations (the shortlist in this article).
All are rooms with a kitchen that you rent, and every one has beds rather than futons (official sites and Rakuten listings).

How an apartment hotel (illi) and a minpaku differ
The answer: neither has staff on site. They differ in four things: whether the beds and the washer-dryer are listed officially, the price, the cancellation terms, and the registration number. The two minpaku show their registration number as a private lodging business (minpaku) in their Rakuten plans.
Prices in this article assume 6 people (two parents, two elementary-school children and two grandparents) and were measured on Rakuten Travel as 6 adults.

- At some places the price changes with the number of children (Everynet Shinjuku II has child rates). The prices above were measured for 6 adults.
- We did not measure prices for two rooms. We cannot say that one room is cheaper, so if you want to compare, get the price for two rooms on the booking page too.

The answer: at all 6 places, the cherry-blossom Saturdays (27 March and 3 April 2027) cost about 1.4–2.2 times a weekday. The cheapest was J-ARC in Akebonobashi; the most expensive was illi Nuto on a cherry-blossom Saturday (27 March).

| M/W HOTEL | ¥79,506 | ¥95,226 | ¥135,042 | ¥135,042 |
- Each figure is the first room and plan Rakuten Travel returned for that date. The room can differ by date even at the same place (J-ARC Akebonobashi, M/W HOTEL).
- illi Nuto's November and December figures are for an "opening celebration" discount plan. In the cherry-blossom season the price was about twice the weekday price.
- When we fetched again on 30 September, prices for the same dates had moved by up to about 4%. Treat the table as a guide for the day we measured.
illi Nuto Shinjuku or Everynet Shinjuku II?
The answer: illi Nuto lists its beds, washer-dryer and kitchen room by room on its official site, but it is expensive in the cherry-blossom season and charges the full price from 30 days before. Everynet Shinjuku II splits the beds across two bedrooms and costs less, but it has no dryer, and only certain rooms take 6.

From the airport to your stay, and on to Shinjuku Gyoen
The answer: the airport limousine buses do not stop in front of any of the 6 places in this article. Get off at Shinjuku Station West Exit or Busta Shinjuku, then walk or take a taxi to your stay.
- The limousine bus stops in Shinjuku are Shinjuku Station West Exit, Busta Shinjuku, and several hotels in Nishi-Shinjuku and on the Shinjuku Station South Exit side (late-evening buses stop only at Shinjuku Station West Exit and Busta Shinjuku). They do not stop in front of places in Shinjuku-sanchome, Yotsuya, Akebonobashi or Shinjuku-gyoemmae.
- Busta Shinjuku is above Shinjuku Station South Exit. Everynet Shinjuku II says it is 10 minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station South Exit. illi Nuto and illi Tas are further than that, and illi Enu (Yotsuya) and J-ARC (Akebonobashi) are far enough that you change to a train.
- How to get from the airport, the cost for 6 and the last options for evening arrivals are in Haneda or Narita to Shinjuku with a family of 6.
- For planning a day at Shinjuku Gyoen in the cherry-blossom season, see choosing your day for the Shinjuku Gyoen cherry blossoms.
- If you would rather base yourselves in Asakusa or Ueno, see places to stay in Asakusa and Ueno for big families.
Honest caveats: before you book (6)
These are things we have not been able to verify, so we do not assert them.
Availability and prices are what we measured on the day we searched
These are the results of a search on Rakuten Travel on 29 September 2026 for 6 adults in 1 room, and they change with the dates and the number of people. When we fetched again the next day, prices for the same dates had moved by up to about 4%.
We could not confirm whether the Tokyo accommodation tax is included
It was not mentioned anywhere on the Rakuten property pages (including the notes), the plan lists or the plan details (for all 6 places, rechecked in October 2026). Check it on the final confirmation screen when you book. Note that the Tokyo accommodation tax changes on 1 April 2027 (Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Taxation). Until 31 March, only hotels and ryokan are covered: ¥100 if the room-only price per person per night (excluding consumption tax) is ¥10,000 or more, and ¥200 if it is ¥15,000 or more. From 1 April, simple lodgings and minpaku are covered too, and the tax is 3% of the price at ¥13,000 or more. When 6 share one room, you work it out from the price per person. The cherry-blossom season straddles this change.
For the minpaku, you learn how to get the key after booking
For Everynet Shinjuku II and J-ARC Akebonobashi, neither the Rakuten pages nor the operator's pages say how you get the key. According to the FAQ of the operator, Tranova, once your booking is confirmed you are sent a pre-arrival form, and check-in instructions go to those who have filled it in (as of October 2026).
We did not measure prices for two rooms
We cannot say that 6 in one room is cheaper than two rooms. Get the price for two rooms on the same dates and compare.

All 6 places have beds. Families who want to sleep on futons will need to look outside the scope of this article.
We found no place with a front desk
All 9 places we checked in detail had self check-in with no staff on site, or were minpaku with no reception listed.
