The chart and tables below are a record of a search we ran in September 2026 on Saturdays every two weeks over the next six months (availability changes with when you look).
Availability and prices in this article assume 6 people — two parents, two elementary-school children and two grandparents — searched on Rakuten Travel as "6 adults, 1 room". How each property charges children and seniors differs, and we could not confirm it this time.

Without a car, narrow it down by minutes from a Yui Rail station
The answer: if you are not renting a car, choose a place within a 10-minute walk of a Yui Rail station. You can get there from the airport by train, so 6 people and big luggage do not have to split into two taxis.

The answer: on the same dates, a room for 6 without meals came out cheaper at Coldio. The Okinawa Hotel prices are for the 50 m² Japanese-style room and do not include breakfast.

- On 6 February Coldio's room is a different type (Sunset), so do not compare it directly with the other dates.
- On Saturday 24 July 2027 neither place had a room for 6 (Coldio may simply not have opened bookings yet).
- For stays from 1 February 2027, an Okinawa Prefecture accommodation tax (per person per night, 2% of the room-only price, up to ¥2,000) may be charged separately (Okinawa Hotel says on its official site that the tax is included in its prices and will not be charged on top).
Coldio, or Okinawa Hotel?
The answer: Coldio suits families who want to live as if at home, cooking and doing laundry. Okinawa Hotel suits families who want the children to sleep in a Japanese-style room rather than in beds, or who want a large bath and barrier-free access for the grandparents.

- The official site says all 4 room types have full cooking equipment, dishes, a rice cooker, a microwave, an electric kettle, a fridge, a washing machine, a dryer and free Wi-Fi
- Self check-in. Send your guest details after booking and the entry code arrives by email on the day. Check-in 15:00–22:00
- Check-out is 11:00 if you book through Rakuten (the 12:00 on the official site is only for bookings made there)
- Online card payment only. No parking. English: "a few staff speak a little" (Rakuten listing)

Opened in 1941 as Okinawa's first tourist hotel, about 7 minutes on foot from Asato Station
- According to the official site, every Japanese-style room has two connected rooms, and it points out there is no worry about small children falling out of bed (the amount of bedding is not stated officially. The booking site Agoda says 6 futon sets, but that is not official information, so to be sure all 6 are covered, ask the hotel before you book)
- Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant (buffet; on some days breakfast is a set menu). The prices in the table are room only
- The large bath is free for guests. The coin laundry has 5 drum-type washer-dryers (detergent included, ¥100 coins only)
- Wheelchair users can stay: wheelchair loan, barrier-free toilets and handrails in the large bath. Meals for older guests and allergy-aware meals are also available (Rakuten listing)
- Baby cots are listed among the room equipment (ask the hotel how many there are and whether you need to reserve one)
- Parking for 50 cars (¥1,000 per car per night). Registered as a national Tangible Cultural Property in November 2023

1. Do laundry, pack less (Coldio) Official site
The official site lists a washing machine and dryer in every room, so you carry fewer changes of clothes for 6.
2. 4 min to Tomarin (Coldio) Official site
A 4-minute walk to "Tomarin", the ferry terminal at Tomari Port. Handy on days you take a boat to the outer islands.
3. Large bath and barrier-free (Okinawa Hotel) Official & Rakuten
The large bath is free for guests. Wheelchair loan and handrails in the bath make it an easy place to stay with grandparents.
If you will cook and do laundry, check Coldio first
The Moon (69 m²) takes up to 6, and the official site lists a washer and dryer in every room. It is a small place with just 6 rooms, so check as soon as your dates are fixed.

Okinawa Hotel is for families who want to sleep on tatami, and families with grandparents
The answer: Okinawa Hotel suits families who want the children to sleep in a Japanese-style room rather than in beds, and families who want a large bath and barrier-free access for the grandparents. The Japanese-style room for 6 is 50 m², and the hotel has a breakfast restaurant, a large bath and a coin laundry.
- The room that came up for 6 was "Japanese-style room / 50 m² (for 6)". Japanese-style rooms take up to 6, so 7 cannot share one room.
- Check-in 15:00 / check-out 11:00. You can leave luggage before check-in and after check-out.
- There is parking, so it still works if you rent a car for a day.
- On the plan we looked at on Rakuten, the cancellation fee is 20% from 2 days before, 50% the day before and 100% on the day (Coldio: 100% from 7 days before).

The 43 places we checked are within 3 km of central Naha and had good availability in an earlier search; they are not every place to stay in Naha.

We found no indoor pool for winter
Of the places with the most availability for 6 in one room, the 9 we checked in the Rakuten facilities list had no indoor pool. The only pool was Hotel Ocean's outdoor pool, open in summer only. For rainy days, see day trips from Naha without a car.

Okinawa Prefecture accommodation tax from 1 February 2027
Coldio says in its Rakuten listing that the tax "may be collected separately from the room charge". Okinawa Hotel says in a notice on its official site (15 August 2026) that its new prices for bookings made from 1 September 2026 already include an amount equal to the tax, and that it will not charge the tax on top from February 2027 (how this applies to bookings through Rakuten and other sites is not stated, so check when you book).
