This is a record of our search in September 2026. The 18 are the places where one room for 6 adults was available on 12 or more of 14 Saturday dates between October 2026 and April 2027; availability changes with when you look. At the time all 18 had plenty of availability, so what decides it is the walk from the station and how they handle luggage.

- If you are coming from the airport, check the station's line too. The stations you reach from Fukuoka Airport without changing are on the subway Airport Line (Hakata, Gion, Nakasu-Kawabata, Tenjin and others).
- Gofukumachi is on the Hakozaki Line (change at Nakasu-Kawabata), and Yakuin and Watanabe-dori are on the Nanakuma Line; from the airport, both need one change (Fukuoka City Subway).
Most have no front desk, and 12 cannot hold your bags
The answer: a family arriving on a morning flight should first decide where 6 people's luggage will wait until 15:00.
1. 13 say they are unstaffed Rakuten listings
Of the 18, 13 are self-check-in places whose listing says "unstaffed" or "no staff on site" (you check in on a tablet or iPad). MK Hotels Nishinakasu is self-check-in too, and the other 4 say nothing about reception.
2. 12 cannot hold your bags Rakuten listings
Tabi and., Rakuten STAY, Oyado Rantan, COCON and others. The places point you to station coin lockers instead.
3. No entry to the room before 15:00 Rakuten listings
Most from 15:00 (2 from 16:00). Many state that early check-in is not possible.
- Lockers big enough for a suitcase are on the scarce side. At Hakata Station (JR Hakata City) there are 4 extra-large (¥1,200) and 20 large (¥1,000) lockers on B1F of AMU Plaza (5:30–24:00), and 10 large (¥1,000) lockers on 1F of Deitos Annex, usable 24 hours. At Fukuoka Airport's international terminal there are 6 large wide-door lockers (¥1,200) on the north side of the access hall on 1F (7:30–21:00; all from official information as of 1 October 2026).
- At many places the only way to pay is by card online when you book (you cannot pay at the property).
- At Rakuten STAY Hakata Gion, you cannot check in unless you write in the remarks field when booking: a phone number and email you can be reached on that day, your check-in time, and that at least one adult is in the group.

- Across the 18 (leaving out dates that were full), the range was ¥25,500–107,004 on the weekday and ¥68,800–185,514 on the December Saturday.
- Divided by 6 (calculated), that is about ¥4,500–12,000 per person at Rakuten STAY and about ¥7,900–21,300 at Tabi and.
- Fukuoka City's accommodation tax is ¥200 per person per night (¥500 if the room rate is ¥20,000 or more). Of the 18, 13 (including Tabi and., Oyado Rantan, COCON and MK) say you pay it at the property at check-in, separately from the price. Rakuten STAY Hakata Gion's plans on Rakuten say it is "included in the room rate", so you do not pay it there (as of October 2026). In the table above, only the Rakuten STAY prices include the tax.

Tabi and. is a walk from the station, but its room for 7 has 4 beds, plus a kitchen, a washing machine and a lift.

Neither the official site nor Rakuten mentions them. If you have grandparents or a stroller with you, ask the property before booking.
We have not looked into why December Saturdays are expensive
At the same place they were about 2.4–3.1 times a weekday, but we have not checked whether events or anything else are behind it.
We did not price two separate rooms
We cannot say one room for 6 is cheaper than two rooms. Pull up the price for two rooms on the same date and compare.

Can we leave our bags if we arrive in the morning?
The main places in this article (Rakuten STAY Hakata Gion, Tabi and.-light- Hakata 01 and others) cannot hold bags, and you cannot get into the room until 15:00 — even if you arrive early from the airport. The places point you to station coin lockers.
Do small children who share a bed stay free?
Many places let children under elementary-school age share a bed for free, but Rakuten STAY Hakata Gion counts them toward capacity. For 6 adults plus a preschooler you need the room for 8 or two rooms.
Is it better to stay a walk from Hakata Station or close to a subway station?
