Kinosaki Onsen: a room for 6
See availability
Kinosaki Onsen × 6–7 in one room × Shuttle to the bathhouse streets

Six in one room in Kinosaki Onsen is possible just outside town.
The shuttle timetable is what decides it.

Ryokan in the bathhouse district had a room for 6 adults on at most 8 of 14 dates (measured on Rakuten Travel, September 2026). Under the same conditions, this condominium about a 7-minute drive outside town had 12. With less to worry about on the room side, what you need to think about is how to get to and from the evening baths.

Ryokan in the bathhouse district rarely have a room for 6

The answer: we found no ryokan in the bathhouse district (Yushima, Kinosaki-cho) with a room for 6 adults on 12 or more of 14 dates. The one that managed it is a condominium outside town.

In September 2026 we searched Rakuten Travel for "Kinosaki, 6 adults, 1 room" on 14 Saturdays from October 2026 to April 2027. Of the top 10 results, the 9 in the bathhouse district reached 8 dates at most. Only Relo Stay VILLA Kinosaki reached 12.

The ryokan in town "sometimes have a room", which is hard to plan around if your dates are fixed. A search result is not a guaranteed booking (check the number of beds or futons on each property's booking page).

Why this one

5 reasons Relo Stay VILLA Kinosaki holds up on a big family's "hard night"

The answer: space, a kitchen and an in-house hot spring mean the family evening still works on nights you cannot get out to the bathhouses.

Choosing a room

Deluxe, or Japanese-Western Family?

The answer: for 6, the Deluxe Room (4 rooms). If you are 7, or have small children who would rather sleep on futons laid side by side, the Japanese-Western Family Room (only 2).

Prices

Price per room per night, and bathhouse costs

The prices in this article are for 6 people: two parents, two elementary-school children and two grandparents.

Price per room per night and bathhouse costs by group size (measured on Rakuten Travel in September 2026; bathhouse costs calculated from official prices)
What you pay for5 (couple + 1 child + 2 grandparents)6 (2 children)7 (3 children)
Room only (a November Wednesday)¥47,300¥56,760¥66,220
2 meals, half a crab each (a winter Saturday)¥101,332¥116,424¥131,516
Bathhouses, 1 visit¥3,600¥4,000¥4,400
Bathhouse day pass "Yumepa"¥6,750¥7,500¥8,250

If your mix is different, only the prices change. Junior-high students and older count as adults both on Rakuten and at the bathhouses, so with 6 adults the winter Saturday with 2 meals comes to ¥129,360. Only the Japanese-Western Family Room takes 7.

Grandparents pay adult prices too. The only age-based discount at the bathhouses is for people aged 65+ who have surrendered their driving licence and hold a "driving history certificate" (Kinosaki-cho Yushima Zaisanku) — it does not apply to visiting grandparents.

Plan the evening baths backwards from the 9 pm shuttle

The answer: the free shuttle between the property and Kinosaki Onsen Station is by reservation, and the last one from the station back to the property leaves at 21:00. The basic pattern for evening baths is "leave on the 18:30 or 19:30 shuttle, come back on the 21:00 pick-up".

Property → station → bathhouse streets (evenings) Relo Stay Kojima, Toyooka Shuttle, ~7 min Kinosaki Stn Shuttle stop On foot Bathhouses Yushima Last shuttle from the station 21:00 (booking needed) From property 15:30–20:30 at :30 / from station 15:00–21:00 on the hour

If you stay in the bathhouse streets after 9 pm, you will need a taxi or similar to get back (we could not confirm the fare).

Baths first18:30 shuttle21:00 pick-up (dinner after)A little over 2 hours

A single bathhouse visit costs ¥800 per adult and ¥400 per child (children = age 3 to elementary school). The "Yumepa" day pass, sold for day-trippers, is ¥1,500 per adult and ¥750 per child (Kinosaki Onsen Tourism Association). Most ryokan in town include bathhouse passes, but whether guests here get them is not stated officially, and we could not confirm it. If they are not included, 6 people pay ¥4,000 per visit or ¥7,500 for day passes, as in the table in the price section (calculated).

Only 6 rooms here sleep 6 or more

Winter crab-season weekends fill first. Once your dates are fixed, check availability before anything else.

Prices vary by date, so check the latest on the booking page. Always declare every guest's age when you book.

Compare Kinosaki Onsen stays on the map

The answer: the map shows at a glance where the bathhouse-district inns sit compared with the properties outside town. Enter your dates and group size (for a big family, 6 adults) to compare availability.

How to get there from Osaka and Kyoto, comparing the limited express, the pass and the highway bus, is in Osaka and Kyoto to Kinosaki Onsen for 6; how to go round the bathhouses is in a day in Kinosaki Onsen for big families.

Honest caveats: before we recommend this property (6)

These are things we have not been able to verify, so we do not assert them.

1

We could not confirm whether guests get bathhouse passes

Most ryokan in town include bathhouse passes, but the official site says nothing for this property. The "Yumepa" day pass is also presented as a day-tripper product, and we could not confirm whether guests staying outside town can buy it as is. Ask the property when you book.

2

7 people may not fit in one shuttle

The tuk-tuk seats 6 and runs until 18 October. The capacity of the regular car is not stated officially. If you are 7 in the Japanese-Western Family Room, tell them the number of people and bags when you reserve the shuttle.

3

We could not confirm how to get back after 9 pm

The last shuttle from the station back to the property is at 21:00. If you stay in the bathhouse streets later, you will need a taxi or similar, but we could not confirm the fare.

4

You cannot choose your Deluxe room

The official site says "room types cannot be selected", and layouts differ from room to room. Plan on deciding who sleeps where once you arrive.

5

No washing machine in the listed room amenities

The official list of room amenities does not mention a washing machine. If you want to do laundry on a longer stay, check with the property before booking. Cleaning during a stay is "eco cleaning" (a regular clean once every 3 days).

6

Prices are from the day we searched

¥56,760 and ¥116,424 are what we found in September 2026 for 6 people (4 adults and 2 elementary-school children). The number and school year of the children change the price category, and prices also move a lot by date.
